Marino critic agrees to buy him coffee

Coffee can indeed bring people together. Mary Gehman, a Skippack resident, is known for questioning Supervisor Mark Marino during public meetings. Near the end of Wednesday's meeting, which again saw Gehman probe for answers on the FBI investigation, the two shared a laugh.

I grew up in Middlesex County, New Jersey, a Darwinian pit of political sleaze if ever there was one. The state has a well-deserved reputation for hosting some of the nastiest, ugliest campaigns in the country. When I moved to Limerick in 2005, those politics were one of many things about New Jersey--traffic circles and insanely high property taxes being among the others--that I was happy to leave in my rear view mirror.
