Everyone knows the housing market is in a slump. New construction is practically at a standstill.
But at Waltz Golf Farm, the building goes on.
Waltz’s, 303 Ridge Pike in Limerick, recently announced the construction of a new and improved Victorian House on the Castle Miniature Golf Course.
The way I see it, miniature home sales are up and mortgage rates are down,” said local Realtor Karl Glocker. “Further proof that the economy is ‘puttering’ back to life.”
“The old Victorian house was on its last legs,” said Lisa Waltz, whose family has owned Waltz Golf Farm for decades. “It was built in 1986, and years of weather and kids climbing on it took its toll. It is also the last hole on the course so people tend to be a little more ‘emotional’ at the end if the score is close, if you know what I mean.”
The old Victorian house was in such bad shape that Waltz said it’s heading to the landfill.
“I think someone played taps, though,” she said.
The new Victorian House will be unveiled at a Housewarming Party Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests will enjoy 2-for-1 mini golf rates, free birch beer, hot dogs and balloons for the kids. Enter your e-mail address for a chance to win a special Fourth of July package – Waltz’s is famous for its Fourth of July fireworks display.
