A study published this month in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine concludes than 50 percent of American children will use food stamps provided by the government.
Sociologists Thomas A. Hirschl, a professor at Cornell University, and Mark R. Rank, of Washington University in St. Louis, analyzed poverty trends with regards to race, education, and marital status of the child’s parents.
The New York Times reported this week that hunger is at a 14-year high.
