At Thursday night’s Limerick Planning Commission meeting, Sanatoga Springs received a unanimous 6-0 endorsement from the commissioners. Meanwhile, a new church moved closer to breaking ground.

The O’Neill Properties development proposed for the Sanatoga interchange of Route 422 is now poised to receive preliminary and final land development approvals from the Limerick Board of Supervisors next Thursday, Dec. 10.

Last month, Supervisor Ken Sperring Jr. asked the developer and/or Costco to pay for one full-time police officer for three years after the shopping center opens – to offset an anticipated increase in service calls to the area.

O’Neill has pledged $750,000 to Limerick as a “donation,” according to the proposed 2010 budget.

Also on Thursday, the planning  commission voted 4-2 to recommend preliminary land development approval for North Pointe Community Church. The worship center, proposed at Metka and Game Farm roads, switched ownership hands in a deal involving Skippack Supervisor Mark Marino, according to Limerick records.

Dissenting votes from the commission came from Lin Braddick and Michele Chrisman. Chrisman lost in the supervisors race Nov. 3.

In other news, Commissioner Tim O’Connell announced he is resigning from the planning commission. He did not say why.

Township Solicitor Joe McGrory announced that he will not be attending planning commission meetings in 2010. The supervisors cut legal representation at commission meetings from the budget, he said.

McGrory later added, “Pick a date (for regular meetings) I can generally meet, in case I need to come out.”

As for Braddick, she will continue serving on the commission, saying that attendance at meetings provides valuable “entertainment.”

“I should get a hobby,” she said.

“The current board of supervisors is less entertaining than previous administrations,” Braddick said.

The supervisors approved the oneill plan that does not include any improvements to traffic.

this is short sighted, irresponsible , borderline breach of duty and simply immature.

The Oneill web site shows traffic jams for the already established outlet mall. Yes, check it out. They used aerial photos that show cars illegally parking and traffic jams. Now, they want to build that monsterous costco and the rest of the center and not include any other entrances. Simply a joke. Simply immature.

The supervisors hired with our money consultants to address this. What the consultants did was identify land for other developers to buy. just check out who owns what around the interchange.

The police chief should speak up. He wont. He never has.

On Thursday December 10th the Limerick Supervisors are poised to make a decision which in itself will serve as an indictment to their mimimal intelligence.
