Officers Shawn Pancoast and Chris Iochum, of the Limerick Police Department, saved a life Oct. 26.

Chief William Albany handed out two official commendations to the officers at last week’s Limerick Township Board of Supervisors meeting. The men would later receive a standing ovation from the public.

On Oct. 26, Albany said, the officers responded to a medical emergency on the 100 block of Azalea Circle. A 43-year-old woman had collapsed after succumbing to a heart attack.

Iochum and Pancoast arrived at the home within two minutes and immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Albany said.

Their efforts, he said, were the “sole reason this person survived this medical emergency.”
