The Montgomery County Health Department will offer potassium iodide (KI) tablets next week to anyone who lives or works within ten miles of the Limerick nuclear power plant. Potassium iodide, if taken promptly, can reduce the risk of thyroid cancers and other diseases in the event of an accidental release of radioactive materials at the plant.
